   Firstly, I'm never inspired to write a review, but...
   It's not everyday you find a product which over delivers. I have found the Iolite vaporiser is definitely one of those products.
   Easy to use, well designed, sturdy and works exactly as promised.
   Having never tried a vaporiser before, I was blown away by how efficient the delivery is, compared to alternatives - this product literally pays for itself.
   Honestly, I can't recommend the Iolite more highly.

   Compact and well equipped for the road. Technically a little hungry on the fuel as it doesn't last as long as the manual states - about 8 - 10 x 5 min burn cycles only. The track which the removable lid runs on should be made from higher grade plastic or metal as it will likely ware. However importantly the herbal vaporization is the key to this devices attraction. I'm a non tobacco smoker and don't like breathing in tar and soot so with health in mind I'm hooked! (Posted on 3/02/12)

   I have used desktop bag vaporizers in the past and loved them. I loved the tech behind the Iolite and decided a portable device would be perfect for me. I was not wrong!
   
   I use the Iolite at my desk, in front of the tv, out and about.. Anywhere! It probably comes as no surprise but you can walk down the street these days with all sorts of "weird" devices in your hand and hardly anyone even looks twice.
   
   It does produce a smell, but this rapidly dissipates and smells more like something has wafted over to you from far away.
   
   The device ignites on the first or 2nd click every time for me and has not dropped off in vapour production over the months I have owned it. The vapour production is no where near a desktop device, however this is a different beast and produces a decent, consistent vapour over a 20-30 minute peroid once it has warmed up (about 2-3 minutes).
   
   I would recommend this to anyone who wants a portable device or the best of both worlds and doesn't want to use batteries. Perfect! (Posted on 22/10/11)

   I have taken a month before writing a review to fully test this unit out & hv only ever used the "optimiser". Having never used a vaporiser b4 my 1st experience was a dopey grin from ear to ear - WOW
   
   The taste is beautiful! - thick juicey vapor - never smk again, well.. once in blue moon maybe if this kit breaks. The effect & small amount has blown me away.
   
   Now the cons:-
   
   It seems to be a fairly complicated piece of kit (internally) & I "imagine" I may have issues down the track - we'll see
   
   I live @ a reasonably high altitude (cold) - I need to vape for up to 25 mins before my erbs are fully brown - np I am accumulating a good deal of "left over's"
   
   The extra screens look like the may be needed as as careful as I am the centeral spike continues to press against the middle of the screen...
   
   I cannot get anything but Ventti "Premium" gas - there is simply no alternative for myself in my location - u cant ship it...
   
   GR8 gear and service from AV 2 thumps up guys! : )

    OK, now this is purely a personal preference and depending on your needs - but for me, the vaporiser generally gets used on a daily basis for personal medicinal herbal use only... rather than a group party thing ;-)
    
    In a group scenario, the Extreme Q with the bag system (or Volcano) would probably be a more suitable option. But for me, having owned 3 different vaporisers now - the Iolite is hands down my favourite of them all.
    
    My first ever vape was a cheap and nasty Chinese-made glorified soldering iron off ebay - whip style, but the vapour it produced was pretty lame and forget about the taste (and smell) - metallic/ plastic kind of chemical like... after a few tries, it got shoved down the back of the closet never to be used again - I'd say it's worse for your health than smoking!
    
    Just take my advice - DO NOT waste your money on cheap-arse vapes, it's not worth it - pay the extra and get a known-brand that you know won't make you sick - and actually works ;-)
    
    A week or so later I bought the Iolite - one word: AWESOME!
    
    No bad smells, no bad tastes - in fact the herbs taste so good in the Iolite, I was blown away.
    And after more than a year of daily use, it's still going strong - after a few drops etc I did however manage to get a crack in the screw-in end of the mouthpiece, so had to buy a replacement for that, but for a little over $20 you get 3 anyway, so no big deal.
    
    One thing to keep an eye on - DO NOT inhale while it's heating. Wait until it's stopped hissing before you inhale, otherwise you might inhale some butane, which you don't want to do ;-) But don't let that put you off... it's just one of the little things to get used to.
    
    The third vape I have is an Extreme Q. It's a considered a better vape, but I still prefer the simplicity and portability of the Iolite, so the Iolite continues to get more use. The Extreme Q does get a bit more out of your herbs, but with the Iolite Vapor Optimizer (highly recommended!) it's pretty close. I just found the tubing on the Extreme Q gives the vapour a bit of a plastic smell which I don't get with the Iolite - I haven't had the Extreme Q for very long, so I'm hoping the smell will go away after a good clean.
    
    Other than that, while the Extreme Q is great and all, I just can't go past the convenience of the Iolite - you can use it pretty much anywhere, and once you get used to it, it's just so easy to use.
    
    Make sure you get good quality butane - it DOES make a difference, seems to work much better with good butane... 5x purified or similar is good. I also found that if you can find a can of butane with a metal tip (rather than the usual plastic), it's a little easier to fill.
    
    Oh! and when it starts to discolour a little, get some isopropyl alcohol, and clean it before it gets too dirty - it's easy to keep clean and working great when it's done regularly. I left it a bit too long a couple times and not only did it start to produce a lot less vapour, but it also took a very long time to pull apart and clean, due to the built up gunk... so do it regularly before it gets too bad and it's easy.
    
    If this thing ever dies on me, I wouldn't hesitate in buying another one. (Posted on 18/05/11)

    I'm a sucker for good looks, so searching the web for a portable vaporiser, I was instantly drawn to the iolite. The iolite is an elegant, slender unit with rounded corners, that fits comfortably in the hand and could easily be mistaken for a futuristic cell phone.
    
    But the iolite is much more than a pretty face. It uses butane fuel and a thermostatically controlled piezo activated catalytic converter. 300ml butane canisters last for ages, and are readily available at camping stores and tobacconists. It takes about 45 seconds to heat to the required temperature, the only drawback being the 'hiss' that lasts for a few seconds whenever the thermostat cuts in.
    
    I sometimes use the Launch Box (see my review), but the iolite is my favorite.
    
    Made in Ireland by Oglesby & Butler, famed for their high-quality butane-powered kitchen and welding equipment, the iolite is well worth considering for anyone seeking a portable vaporiser. (Posted on 3/04/11)

    Pros:
    + Small and portable
    + Vaporizers herbs to quality vapour
    + It comes with a carry pouch which is very handy and good to protect your iolite.
    + I also like the simplicity of just having one temperature which is perfect for my herbs and not having to fiddle around with the temperature knob like my mate has to on his vaporizer to get the right temp.
    + Doubles as a hand warmer.
    + Made in Ireland
    
    Cons:
    - Fragile mouth pieces
    - Doesn't always light on the first try
    - Takes a bit long to heat up, about 4 mins. Any time is to long when you just want to enjoy your herbs ;)
    
    I would recommend the iolite but you should get some spare mouth pieces with it because you don’t want to end up like me and have your iolite out of action while you wait for new mouth pieces.

    this vape is cronic. i ordered from aus vapes and the shipping was very fast. all the things ppl are saying about this vape is true!!! just make sure you get some good butane and you will be sweet. I normally fill mine in the morning so when i come home from work she is good to go. i got some ventti from the tabbaco shop for $4.50 and it works pretty well. i seen they sell a few different brands of butane at the mitre 10 so i might give these a try when i run out. very happy with my purchase so far. very small and portable so i can walk around my house and use it any where. much easier on my lungs too. only thing that is bad is that the bowl is a bit too small for me other than that its an awesome vape.     I have spent many nights reviewing portable vaporizers comparing all the pros and cons, and of course, price. I finally decided upon the iolite vaporizer when I got my work bonus. Vaporizers under consideration were the iolite, Magic Flight Launch Box and VaporGenie. My main desire was for the vaporizer to be very portable and stealthy. Primary activities include fishing, camping and hiking. This vaporizer has met all of my requirements and more! Build quality is very nice and the black gloss looks fantastic! The iolite is great for extended camping trips because I can just bring a can of butane and it will last for ages without having to worry about recharging anything. I get about an hour from a butane fill. Some very minor gripes is the on / off switch feels a bit flimsy and it takes a few turns to master the butane filling.
    
    Overall my experience has been great and I absolutely love the vaporizer!

    I just bought an iolite vaporizer last week and have been using it non-stop ever since. Seriously cool bit of kit. Just fire it up and instant vapour. Its so small and comes with a little pouch which makes it perfect for me. I take it everywhere even to work!! There is no smell at all and its very easy to use.
    
    Filling it with butane can be a bit of a pain and sometimes it can take a couple of mins to heat up but other than that im heaps happy and would recommend people to pick one up. At this point I would give it an 8 out 10.
