Kanna Granules - 5 grams

Botanical Name: Sceletium tortuosum

Sceletium tortuosum, or Kanna, is a succulent herb commonly found in South Africa. It has been used by South African hunter-gatherers as a mood-altering substance since prehistoric times, and the first known written account of the plant's use dates back to 1662 by Jan Van Riebeeck. Traditionally chewed or swallowed, Kanna has since been used in gel caps, teas and tinctures.

The plant has been reported to have mood elevation and anxiolytic (anti anxiety) properties. Literature on its rumoured hallucinogenic properties is largely unsubstantiated, though it has been known to be reactive with other herbs and some medications (always consult your healthcare professional before using any herb or supplement.)

Kanna powder can be sprinkled lightly into your favourite herbal blend or used by itself in drinks and teas.
