Lions Tail Leaf - 15 grams

Botanical Name: Leonurus leonotis

Plant Parts: Leaves

Country of Origin: Thailand

Leonorus leonotis is otherwise known as Lion's Tail, Wild Dagga, African Tobacco or "Hottentot Herb". The Hottentots were a nomadic African tribe but they did farm this herb, the leaves of which were often used in ritual pipes. A part of the mint family of herbs, Lion's Tail is known for its supposed medicinal and psychoactive properties. It is used in Eastern medicine as a euphoriant, purgative and vermifuge. In Western herbal medicine, Lion's Tail is sometimes prescribed to relieve premenstrual discomfort, ease menopausal symptoms and regulate menstrual periods. In addition, it is said to have some effectiveness for stabilizing a rapid heartbeat due to anxiety.

Can be added to smoking mixes or brewed as a tea and is said to invoke euphoria, calmness and clear-headedness. To brew as a tea, use 1/4 teaspoon of dried leaf per 150ml of boiling water, brew for 5 minutes and strain.
