Thyme Essential oil 100%, Thymus Vulgaris (12ml)

Thyme is an ancient herb with a long history of use in medicine by the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians and the Romans. In the Middle Ages, Thyme was given to jousting Knights for courage, and a sprig of Thyme was carried into courtrooms to ward off diseases. The Ancient Egyptians used Thyme as part of the embalming process.

Thyme essential oil has a strong herbal scent that is slightly sweet. The name "Thyme" is derived from the Greek word "Thymos" which means "perfume" and the herb was often used as incense in Greek temples.

In aromatherapy practice, the scent of Thyme oil is thought to aid memory and improve concentration, as well as combat feelings of fatigue and exhaustion. Thyme oil has a warming effect when rubbed into the skin, and some believe it to be helpful for treating cellulite, as well as easing muscle aches and improving circulation.

Use essential oils with knowledge and caution. Before using oils of any kind, learn about contraindications and warnings for usage either through the many available resources or consult with a qualified aromatherapist. If applying to skin, always do a patch test first.
