Sticky Brick Labs make hand-made wooden vapes you heat with a butane torch. No battery, no screen, no charging cable. You hold a flame to a glass stem, take a slow breath, and pull the air through the herb yourself. The reward for all that faff is flavour that genuinely embarrasses most electric portables, and that’s why people in Australia hunted them down.

Sticky Brick Junior
The Junior is the way in, and the one most people should start with. It’s a true convection vape, so the herb never touches a hot surface and the flavour stays clean right through a bowl. Pocketable, light, and dead simple once you’ve got the knack. One airpath, one stem, nothing to overthink.
Control comes from two things: how hard you draw, and how long the flame’s on the glass. Wave the torch and sip gently for a flavour pull that lands around 175-185°C in feel. Hold the flame steadier and draw harder and you’ll push it well past 200°C for thicker vapour. There’s no number to read, so you learn it by taste and by how the vapour hits the back of your throat.
The quirk everyone mentions is leaking abv or the odd bit of liquid if you overpack or tilt it. Pack it medium, keep it roughly upright, and it behaves. Brilliant for one person who wants the most taste out of a small bowl.
Runt
The Runt is the flatter, more pocket-friendly shape in the range. Same convection heating and the same torch-and-breath routine, in a body that sits easier in a jacket pocket than the taller bricks. Think of it as the Junior’s idea in a different jacket, tuned for carrying around.
It draws a touch more open than the Junior, so it’s forgiving if you like a bigger lungful without working as hard. The temperature story is the same. A quick flame and a soft draw gets you flavour around 180°C, and a longer heat takes you to clouds nearer 210°C. The shape makes it the easy one to pass around or stash in a bag.
Heads up: the smaller wooden body shows wear and heat marks sooner if you’re rough with the flame, so keep the torch moving and off the timber. Suits someone who liked the Junior but wanted something flatter to carry.
OG Brick
The OG Brick is the original and the big one. Dual airpath, a larger bowl, and a body built for proper draws and sharing. Convection again, so the flavour’s there, but this one’s about volume. Two stems means two people can pull at once, or one person can run both for a serious cloud.
It needs more heat and more lung than the Junior, simply because there’s more air and more herb to move. Wave the torch across both intakes and draw steady for flavour in the low 180s°C, or commit to a longer heat and a strong pull to send it past 215°C. Get it dialled and the vapour it makes is enormous.
The trade-off is that it’s the least pocketable and the most torch-hungry, so a butane can lives near it. It’s the group vape, or the home vape for someone who wants the biggest hit going.
Living with one
A Sticky Brick is a wooden vaporiser with nothing to wear out, which is the whole point. Look after the timber and one lasts for years. Glass stems are the wear part. They get gummy with use and they can crack if you knock them, so keep spares. A cotton bud with a little iso clears the stems and the airpath, and the wood just wants a wipe, never a soak. Keep the flame on the glass and off the timber and the body stays handsome.
A few honest pointers:
- Use a single-flame jet torch, not a soft kitchen lighter. The soft flame won’t get the glass hot enough and you’ll just cook your patience.
- Grind fine and pack medium. Too loose and it scorches, too tight and it won’t draw.
