Short version: the Miqro is the IQ shrunk down for pocket carry, with a smaller bowl and a smaller battery. The IQ is the one to get if you vape at home, share with mates, or hate charging things. The Miqro is the one if you want something tiny you can palm. Same flavour ceramic-zirconia path in both, so neither tastes better than the other. The decision is really about size versus stamina.
Both are conduction vaporizers from DaVinci, and they share the same trick: a flavour chamber in the mouthpiece you can extend to cool and smooth the vapour. If you’ve used one, the other feels instantly familiar.
Size and pocketability
This is the headline difference. The Miqro is properly small, around 91mm tall, the kind of thing that disappears in a coin pocket. The IQ is noticeably chunkier and taller at about 90mm but a good deal wider and heavier in the hand.
If discretion and carry are the whole point for you, the Miqro wins and it isn’t close. The IQ is still portable, but it’s a jacket-pocket device, not a jeans-pocket one.
Bowl capacity
The IQ holds more. Its chamber takes roughly a third of a gram packed full, while the Miqro’s is about half that. That sounds minor on paper and matters a lot in practice.
A bigger bowl means longer sessions and fewer reloads when there’s a few of you passing it around. The Miqro’s smaller bowl is actually a plus if you vape solo and only want a little at a time, since you’re not stuck finishing a big load or wasting it. Both come with a pearl, a little spacer that drops into the chamber to fill the gap when you pack less, so you can run a half-bowl in either without it cooking unevenly.
Battery life
The IQ has the bigger cell and it shows. You’ll get a solid run of sessions out of a charge, and the removable 18650 means you can carry a spare and swap it flat-for-charged in seconds. No waiting.
The Miqro’s battery is smaller and also removable, but it’s a less common size and the runtime is shorter. Fine for a day out if you’re a light user. Heavier users will be topping it up or carrying spares more often. If charging anxiety does your head in, that alone points you at the IQ.
Heat-up and controls
Much of a muchness here. Both warm up in around 60 to 90 seconds and run the same precise temperature control through the DaVinci app, plus a “smart path” mode that ramps the heat gently across a session if you’d rather not fuss with it.
The IQ has a more traditional layout with a little LED dot display. The Miqro uses a stripped-back control face to keep the size down, so setting an exact temperature on the device itself is fiddlier. Most people land somewhere around 190 to 205°C for a balance of flavour and clouds, and a touch lower, say 180°C, if flavour’s all you care about.
Flavour and vapour
Genuinely a tie. Same all-ceramic-and-zirconia airpath, same extendable mouthpiece for cooling. Vapour quality and taste are effectively identical between the two, which makes sense, since the Miqro is the same engine in a smaller shell.
One real-world note that annoys people with both: the airpath wants regular cleaning or the draw tightens and the flavour goes flat. The zirconia mouthpiece especially. Stay on top of it and they’re lovely. Let it go and you’ll wonder what happened.
Price
The Miqro launched as the cheaper of the two, pitched as the more affordable way into the DaVinci flavour experience. The IQ sat higher, which tracks with the bigger battery and bowl. If budget’s the deciding factor, the Miqro gets you most of the way there for less.
The verdict
Get the IQ if you vape at home, share with others, want the longest battery life, or simply prefer a roomier bowl and easier on-device controls. It’s the more complete device and the one most people will be happier with day to day.
Get the Miqro if pocketability and price are what matter most, you vape solo in small amounts, and you don’t mind charging a bit more often or carrying a spare cell. It’s a clever little thing and the flavour gives nothing away to its bigger sibling.
